Meet the Israeli Startups in Fast Company’s report on the World’s Most Innovative Companies 2014

Each year, award-winning tech magazine Fast Company spends months gathering and analyzing data in order to generate its annual  report on The World’s Most Innovative Companies. According to Fast Company, their list is a guide to the state of innovation in economy, featuring the businesses whose innovations are having the greatest impacts across their industries and our culture as a whole. Therefore, it’s not surprising that a number of Israeli companies fresh out of the Startup Nation, the world’s #2 startup ecosystem, were included on the list. OurCrowd’s portfolio company Abe’s Market featured in the Wall Street Journal

Leading business and finance website, The Wall Street Journal, featured OurCrowd’s portfolio company Abe’s Market, a fast growing e-commerce company focused on creating the amazon.com equivalent for the explosive natural and organic products market. OurCrowd investors just participated in a funding round of $10 million into Abe’s Market led by Mistral Equity Partners, a leading mid-market consumer-focused private equity firm. Chicago-based Abe’s Market is tapping into the growing interest in healthy lifestyle, natural and organic foods, via its online store, where the company sells packaged food, beauty and other products. Abe’s Market aims to connect consumers with smaller, specialty brands. “Without us, in the early days a lot of these companies were selling their wares at farmer’s markets,” said Mr. Polin, who is Abe’s Market’s president. Launched in 2009, Abe’s Market is still a relatively small operation, and is hoping to expand to millions of customers, using the new infusion of capital. TechCrunch: “Easy Social Shop Nabs $1.1M To Help Online Merchants Integrate With Facebook”

Leading technology website, TechCrunch, featured OurCrowd portfolio company Easy Social Shop, a startup that enables any online retailer to publish a fully operational storefront on Facebook in three clicks. Easy Social Shop, which lets online sellers integrate existing shops with their Facebook pages, announced today that it has raised $1.1 million from lool Ventures. This brings the Tel Aviv-based startup’s total funding so far to about $2 million. Easy Social Shop will use the capital to build new products and increase customer adoption. Founded in 2011, Easy Social Shop’s clients have opened over 80,000 Facebook stores, with over 8 million items hosted so far. The company says it drives an average of 10% to 18% sales growth across its user base and will add more marketing and monetization tools in the near future.   Easy Social Shop raised $550,000 from OurCrowd investors in late 2012 and $195,000 in its 2nd round of funding in 2013.
